The new Classic timer has arrived

We are very happy to announce that a new version of the Classic timer has been launched. The new version is a complete rewrite and here are the changes compared to the old version:

  • new design;
  • support for tasks without a project;
  • possibility to change a task’s project;
  • no task edit view;
  • the project/task list does not expand when hovering;
  • a lot faster.

Since the new Classic is still in the beta stage then there are a few features that are not available yet:

  • offline mode;
  • support for Internet Explorer;
  • possibility to hide old tasks;
  • the handling/display of old tasks needs to be tweaked.

Go ahead and try it out: go to “My settings” and select “Classic Nova” as the default timer.

The new Classic timer

  1. I really don’t like the “no edit” function. I used that all the time. I no longer see an option for old classic. If it’s beta, then i recommend you add back the edit feature. Thanks.

  2. Like any new procedure, it will take time to get used to the look and feel of the New timer. I have to admit that the Classic timer was pretty clunky, but (like everyone else) I got used to it and learned the somewhat awkward sequence to input my appointment hours, clients, projects and tags – then to calculate & record the task time. The New timer will also have a learning curve – with new sequencing required. But, having a quick “Calculate” button back is essential.

  5. This looks awesome but I almost exclusively use Toogl Desktop. What’s the schedule for putting this into Desktop?

    Thanks and keep up the very excellent work!

  6. Just switched over and I’m really liking it – yet to see if there’s any bugs for me, but the look and feel is great. Seems to be quicker to use. Thanks for the great service!
