Welcome to Smiles Inc: A Different Type of Agency [Comic]

Running an agency is hard. Just ask the folks at Smiles Inc. Like most agencies, they face a few, small, issues. But I’m sure it’s nothing a little efficiency consulting and some good marketing can’t fix.

This comic was created by Elizabeth Pich, half of the talent behind War and Peas. Stay tuned for more angst from Smiles Inc!

And if you’re wondering if that’s how marketing actually works, the answer is: of course it is! How do you think we made this comic?

If you want to improve your efficiency and avoid the wrath of a consultant, you first need to know how much time you really spend working and how much time is just playing with yarn and knocking things off of tables. After all, sitting at a desk does not equal actual work.

Knowing where your time is going is key in finding out if you’re truly working getting things done or just falling into a busy trap. We would know, we did a very scientific experiment to test just that.

After all, we could all use just a little more time in our days, and while trying to slow the suns rotation down through science or magic may sound appealing, improving your efficiency might be just a little more feasible.

If you work for an agency, you may also get paid for your time and work. So it’s probably good to know how long that ‘one small change’ is actually taking you. We also happen to have made a great tool for just that purpose!

What a totally, random coincidence.

Do You Have Any More Comics?

If you’re on the lookout for some more comics, we’ve got your back. In addition to putting out a new comic out every Thursday, we’ve got some great comics in the catalogue:

If you work for any type of agency, you’ve probably had your fair share of these types of clients. We’ve also done a comic guessing what the world would be like if it were created by a programmer. Or another epic piece about how to save the princess using different programming languages.

Keep your eyes peeled or like us on Facebook if you want these comics delivered directly to you! We also post on LinkedIn if you want to pretend you’re doing work.

If you have any cool ideas that we could put into a comic, do let us know in the comments below and we promise to add you as an easter egg when it comes out.

Until then – keep on trackin’!
