New layout for Toggl extra apps

We are happy to announce that we will soon be releasing a new design for our desktop and mobile applications.

The new layout is simpler, clearer and much faster. In addition, it has bigger buttons for easier use on mobile devices. Refresh, Feedback and Logout options are now at the top – no more scrolling 🙂

If you would like to beta test this new version, please email us at support-at-toggl-dot-com, we welcome you with open arms!

In relation to this we will completely discontinue the oldest version of the desktop application from October 1st. Google Gadgets will also stop working then.

  1. I was wondering which platform you use for the desktop app. It kind of looks like an embedded browser (I’m guessing Chromium) and I was wondering what tools you used to pull that off.

  2. Also, “12.30” works for me, in both start/end and duration fields. “12,30” works too, but is assumed to be a fraction of an hour, resulting in 12h18m.

  3. I hope you will take thios opportunity to add extra ways to indicate minutes in the counter. Having to use the semi-colon is a drag since it requires using the shift key.

Why not allow us to indicate time in various manners : 12:30 or 12-30 or 12,30 or 12.30, whatever…

  4. It looks like the button to “continue” a previous task is being moved into a sub-menu (off the green arrow?). This seems bad for me; that is the button I hit the most as I switch back-and-forth between the same tasks all day.

Moving Refresh to the top is great!
