Expected downtime this Sunday

This Sunday (2nd Oct 2011), for approximately one hour between 9am – 10am UTC, you will not be able to access your Toggl online accounts.  You can still track time offline on the extra applications.

This is because at that time, we will be upgrading our database server in order to add a redundancy to our system. The redundancy plan will reduce the possibility of major connection failures in the future.

  1. @Stephan: Estonia is in Europe 🙂
@Liisa: Thank you for your update. I have seen in the downtime today that you’ve tried to do it earlier and I’m thankful for that.

  2. @Igal: I’m sorry that the downtime came at such an inconvenient time for you. The reason we went for this time was that the weekly traffic in Toggl is smallest on Sundays, so we were trying to impact as few users as possible. We will keep your comment in mind if we should need to do this again, though.

@Stephan: Thanks for such kind words, it generated many smiles in the office! 🙂

  3. Igal: I think it is in Estonia. All Estonians that I’ve met have been incredibly nice and very competent, so it’s a big plus that Toggl is run by an Estonian company.

  4. We seem to be having some hickups with the Google sign-in feature at the moment. Please use the traditional sign-in fields if you can’t sign in with Google! We are working on the problem. Thanks!

  5. Liisa&all Toggl team, thank you! I hope you won’t get too many people moaning that precisely during this hour they had to do some incredibly important time tracking… :-).

  6. Very bad choice to do this updates first day of the month! At first day of every month most of people do their reporting for the previous month.
