The Coolest Of All – Dashboard in Toggl!

Hey guys!

As some of you have already noticed, we have finally released a feature that´s called Dashboard. It´s available in New Toggl and this post will show you what is it for, and what kind of different things you can do there. Dashboard gives you the opportunity to have a clear overview of your own and your team´s activity.

Click on your account name and voila! There´s your Me view:

me view dashboard

Summary Report view on the left side shows you data from any date range. The calendar selection as well as how the data is shown is very simple, probably already familiar to you, and clearly explained in Summary Report article.

Most tracked view on the right side shows a list of your most tracked tasks during last 9 days. You can have clear overview of what you’ve been doing and you can continue any of these tasks with a single click on the task.

If you open up the Team view, then this is how it looks like:

Team view can be hidden from regular users. For that go to Workspace Settings page and activate “Who can see Team Dashboard” and set it to “Admins”.

Comparison with the previous period – on the left side, there´s again the overview of a specific date range for your whole Team. As well as on the “Me” view, you can here also compare your data with a previous period of time. Grey bars on the right side of your current time bars show the time tracked on the previous time period.

Employee of the Week view on the top right of the screen is a scoreboard of up to 5 team members who have tracked the most time during last week. You can see the persons time tracking sum when hovering on their picture.

Activity view under the scoreboard shows an overview of your team’s recent actions. It shows who is currently tracking time (shown in white) and who has recently tracked (shown in grey).

We hope that you´ll enjoy using Dasboard feature and if you have any questions/suggestions, contact us to

All the best from your Support Team!

  1. In Opera, the Timeline doesn’t show the time spend in what program, but only shows the time tracked as a blue horizontal bar. The vertical bars doesn’t show up. I like that feature a lot, so a fix would be appreciated.

  2. I am willing to try the new but cannot even access a login screen. Possibly related to site wanting me to upgrade to new browser but my work will not allow me to do this. How do I get to the new?

  3. So in order to learn my dollar figures, I have to point to the unlabeled, randomly covered donut graph segments and move my mouse in circular direction while watching the highlighted entries in the left-hand list move vertically, then match the labels on the left with the dollar figures popping up on the right?

    This is laughable UI.

  4. Why does “most tracked” display only the last 9 days of information, when everything else on the Dashboard depends on the selected date range?

  5. How the heck are colors being chosen for the donut chart on the Dashboard? Right now I have two purple segments and one red segment. The purple segments are not even for the same client. As I use the arrows to review previous weeks, the segment colors for a project are not even consistent from week to week! Why give them colors at all if the colors are utterly meaningless? Another example of things being made “pretty” without a thought to usefulness.

  6. @Grethel: no need to thank me. I’m glad to help!

I think it would be a good idea if you would create a “Toggl Users Forum”. That would be the place where Toggl-users can help each other out and this might singnificantly reduce the amount of support requests you receive, so that you guys can start having a lunch breack again :).

  7. I would love to see a new Sort feature – in addition to sorting by duration or title. I would like to be able to sort by the time of day hours were logged. this would help me track my work trends – whether i do more work in the nights versus in the mornings. whether i get more done between 10pm-3am, or 12pm-5pm. i work from home and work all around the clock, so this kind of data sorting would give me some useful info for planning better weeks. Thanks toggl for a great product.

  8. I do like the dashboard. But in contrast to Scott, I can’t find a way to get to the Dashboard – expect typing in the URL. Any hints? Clicking Toggl in the top left corner takes me to “Timer”.

  9. Very nice! I’d like it even better if the current task (e.g. the top line of the Timer tab) appeared also on the Dashboard.

  10. I like the new dashboard but I can’t find any button or link to get me back to the Home screen to enter time again. Once on the Dashboard I am “stuck” there.
