With today’s release, a lot of stuff was dropped:

old Classic timer; it has been replaced by the new Classic;

old API; view documentation and code samples about our new RESTful API;

old Windows-only Toggl Desktop (version 1.0.3 and lower) – it has been replaced by the new cross-platform Toggl Desktop.

If you are experiencing strange behaviour, do a refresh to the web page or Toggl Desktop. Questions, comments and everything else can be posted here as a comment or you can write directly to our support mail address.

Toggl Team

UPDATE: There has been a lot of complaints about missing features in the new Classic timer. Here is a list of things that we are improving in the very near future (hopefully we’ll manage to do it next week):

search bar – will search from the task names again;

click on a project name – will start a new task;

title of the pop-out window – will include the current task name in it.

We launched a few updates today.

The most important update is that old Nano is now gone and Nano Nova has taken its place. The new Nano acts quite like the old one and the biggest changes are in the design. If you were using the old Nano and have some questions about the new one, let us know by simply leaving a comment here or emailing to our support address.

Another noticeable update can be found on the tasks and report pages. We swapped the autocomplete text fields with an autocomplete/dropdown component. Now you can either select with your mouse or type to select the project you want.

And finally, there are many changes to the new Classic as well. Support for planned tasks and improved past task handling to name a few.

Cheers,

Toggl Team

Lately, many of our users who use Firefox, have had problems using the timer on the website. Namely the timer will remain in a loading state and does not show the task list.

This issue is directly related the the offline capabilities of our timers. It seems that Firefox has only partial support for offline caching and therefore the timers do not work properly. This is why we have now disabled the offline support for the timers on the web page (this does not concern Toggl Desktop). It has been disabled across all browsers since Firefox is not the only one lacking complete offline caching support.

If you use Firefox, we recommend the following. Depending on your operating system, open Firefox and go to:

Windows: Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline storage;

Mac: Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline storage;

Linux: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline storage.

Then remove the line that says “www.toggl.com”. After that, reload the web page and the issues of forever-loading timers should disappear.

Let us know if you have questions!

Hey!

We released a new version of Toggl. There are improvements with both of our timers: the Nano and the classic Timer. Namely now they support offline usage (available only on browsers that support HTML5 – Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4; and Toggl Widget).

That means if you track tasks while not connected to the Internet, the tasks won’t get lost. They will be posted to the server when you connect to the Internet again.

If you use the timer inside the Toggl web page to track time, then the time tracked offline will be kept as long as you have the browser window opened.

When you use the Toggl Widget, the time tracked while offline is preserved even when you close the widget.

If you already don’t use the widget, then:

NB! Offline mode is still in the beta stage. That means it mostly works but there might be some glitches.

Cheers,

Toggl Team

Today was another launchday. Here’s what got done:

1. Tags in the Timer

Now you can add/remove tags right there in the Timer. Just select them from the dropdown.

2. New feeds

You may have already noticed a few new icons on the dashboard.

Now there’s a possibility to subscribe to your tasks. The first one is for your recent tasks and the second one is for Google Calendar. Just copy/paste the feed link to your favorite reader/Google Calendar.

NB! For Premium users only.

3. Changeable time frame on the dashboard charts

As you can see there are three options: this month, this week and today.

NB! For Premium workspaces only!

4. Reset filters link in reports

For faster filter cleanup.

5. Possibility to choose a time format

There are two choices: 12-hour and 24-hour clock. It can be changed under “My Settings”.

6. Timer now allows two tasks with the same name

That is two tasks with the same name under the same project on the same day. Something like this:

7. Billable amounts and currencies now seperated in the CSV export

For easier processing.

Cheers,

The Toggl Team
