We announced back in January we are working on a new productivity tool for team planning, called (wait for it) – Planner. Now we are proud to announce that the best overview tool for your team’s tasks for upcoming weeks is finally released to the general public. Go over to Planner site and see for yourself – the first 30 days are completely free!

Here’s what you’ll get with Planner:

‘birds-eye’ view of your team’s plans over coming weeks (up to 16 weeks timespan)

change plans easily by drag and drop

keep future tasks in view in icebox

use recurring tasks by making them ‘stick’

form subtasks to make more detailed plans

There will be a complete integration with Toggl, allowing you to export your clients and projects into Planner and then importing tasks back to Toggl, allowing you to track time to them.

We are waiting for feedback as always!

Hey,

Good news. A completely new Toggl Desktop, re-written from scratch, will be launched soon. We – Toggl team and guys from Mooncascade – have built it using a novel approach to software development – Sprint48 – where were are trying to build a working version in just 48 hours.

You can read more about our sprint from:

our newly created Facebook fan page: facebook.com/Toggl

ArcticStartup – a Nordic and Baltic technology startup blog: Toggl is a testbed for Sprint48

The reason why we decided to drop the current Toggl Desktop and build a new one from scratch is that we reached a conclusion that the current one has too many issues and the attempt to use a web application as a native application has not worked for us (current one is a site specific browser, i.e. a website in a native container).

Here is a screen shot of what the new Toggl Desktop currently looks like

Improvements that the new Toggl Desktop will bring:

It is a native application.

A lot better offline support.

Faster, more responsive.

Capabilities to auto-synchronize with the server.

Smaller installer.

Etc.

Here is a link to the new alpha version for:

Windows

OS X

Linux support will follow very soon.

NB! Keep in mind that the new Toggl Desktop is still in a very early development stage. There are many features missing, the design is not complete and there can be several bugs. However, if you are feeling adventurous, go ahead, try and let us know what your first impressions are

Cheers,

Toggl Team

We have great news!

We are going to release the Toggl Autopilot next week. It is an extension to the popular Toggl Desktop.

Essentially, the Autopilot is a helpful little fellow, whose mission is to help you track your time. It will study your behaviour by memorizing the projects you are tracking and the applications that are in focus while tracking. After a short study period, it can give you suggestions on what project to track, based on the application currently in focus.

The Autopilot is most useful when you have a tendency to forget switching off the timer when finishing a task. It will also help you catch all the seconds when your work time is very fragmented across different projects.

The Autopilot is currently in the beta-testing stage. We’re releasing it with a separate beta version of Toggl Desktop.
