Manual add of time entries Krister 05/04/11

Entering time entries manually has been problematic for some users, so we have improved this. There is a new link – “add manually” – just above the start-button:

By clicking this link following will happen:

  • The time entry area turns grey to indicate other mode.
  • There is a different heading and button text to better describe what will happen with the time entry.
  • Time entries added this way will not start tracking.

This is how the manual entry looks like

All other functionality is left unchanged. You can return to the normal, timer mode by clicking the “use timer”-link on top right. Your selection will be saved and you will see the same state next time you log on to Toggl.

Pre-payments now available Krister 05/03/11

Due to popular request it is now possible to pay ahead for several months in addition to monthly billing. Please go to the Subscription & Billing menu under Settings to review options and current balance.

To use the pre-payment feature please select number of months you wish to pay for and click on a button “Pay”. You will be prompted for payment channel. Proceed as usual following the instructions on screen.

Pre-payment options

After making a successful payment your current balance is displayed under your plan description (see below). This balance is deducted automatically when next payment is due. If there is insufficient balance in your account your credit card or PayPal account will be billed automatically. You can add more funds if necessary at any time.

You can always change the plan, your balance will be deducted by correct sum automatically. Please note that the current balance cannot be withdrawn from the account.

Another week, another version. It is now possible to get to the project page straight from time entry:

The link “View project” will take you this projects view. Here are couple of other new features – first, the project page has been re-ordered so that team and tasks are at the top, to provide easier access to most used functions. Another, this time a pro feature is setting rate for team members within a project:

Just click on “set rate” and you can set individual rates for team members, which are then used in reporting. If no individual rate is set, project or client specific rate is used.

Integrations and CSV import release Krister 04/19/11

There are new integration tools available – QuickBooks Online, activeCollab and import as a CSV-file (in addition to existing integrations with Basecamp and FreshBooks). Check the Integrations menu under your workspace settings to view options and some examples. QuickBooks and activeCollab can be synchronized automatically or on demand.

We have also improved Internet Explorer support, both versions 8 and 9 should be more usable. Please note that we do not support previous versions of Internet Explorer.

The Toggl-sponsored Binpress programming contest is now over and the winners have been announced. Toggl Team congratulates all the winners!

Binpress, a marketplace for source code, is planning to launch several smaller contests during the next couple of months. There are a lot of coders among Toggl users who might be interested in participating :)

New workspace setting to hide billing information Alari 02/23/11

We added a new workspace setting, “Only admins can see billable rates”. You can find the setting on the “Settings” -> “Workspace” page:

When enabled, it hides all billing and billable rate related information from regular users, only workspace administrators can see rates and amounts. If disabled (the default), everything works like it has been, i.e. regular users see billing information they have access to.

Our Android application now includes a widget Alari 02/17/11

Hey,

We just released a new version of our Android application. The biggest change is that now it includes a widget that gives you fast access to your time entries. It looks like this:

The app has been uploaded to Market and if you installed it from there, you should get an update notification soon. You can also download the new version from our extras/widgets page. I’ll also remind you hackers out there that our Android app is open-source.

We released a new version that includes a new setting for workspaces: “Only admins may create projects”.
