Great success with the upgrade!

12 Responses »

You may have noticed a bit of server downtime this morning. That was intentional and allowed us to make larger upgrades.

Things that got done:

  • server software upgrade which will enhance Toggls performance;
  • new design for the public page;
  • improved Basecamp import – better handling of huge imports;
  • “remember me” functionality for the Widget and the web;
  • better offline handling for the Widget;
  • possibilty to download PDF receipts of your Premium payments.

Cheers,

Toggl Team

Great job guys!

One thing to note though… In the new design, you have removed a quick login option from the main page – it is now a click away. As someone who frequently logs in from different computers, I find this one extra click to be rather tedious. I understand that you have to “serve to the masses”, but it does seem to be a trend among web services to provide a quick login access to their existing customer base.

cheers!

Performance is much better.

We are in AU and the click lag gets a little long sometimes, plus the widget in gmail was having the occasional issue. Post upgrade it feels MUCH faster.

Real quick while I’m here, any chance of making the end time of a task entry auto update on entry of a duration? One of the many things I really like about Toggl is that I don’t have to enter start and end times for all my tasks, just start and duration. Without the auto update of the endtime, the numbers and times get all out of alignment. Any chance of this being looked at, or releasing the API and we could get our own widget written.

Perhaps it’s just me, but it doesn’t seem that “remember me” is actually remembering me. Not with the timer nano, anyway. I still have to login every time my computer is shut off.

@Jaanus–Yes, the problem has continued. In case it matters, I’m on a PC running XP. I don’t have any other issues or errors with the widget.
